About GB Short Track
GB Short Track are based and train at the National Performance Centre for short track speed skating, located at National Ice Centre in Nottingham since 2000.
The squad ranges in age from 16 to 30 years-old, with athletes of varying experience. Upon selection for the national squad, athletes relocate to Nottingham to train full-time. The younger skaters that choose to move away from home to be part of the team live with host families in the local area. Click here to read our athletes profiles.
GB Short Track receives its principal funding from UK Sport. This funding is directly related to the performance of the squad at international competitions in line with UK Sportís overall ĎNo Compromiseí funding strategy for all Elite Sport in the UK. International competitions include European Championships, ISU World Cups, World Championships and Olympic Winter Games.
The World Class Performance Programme is led by performance director Stuart Horsepool, with Nicky Gooch as head coach for the Podium Squad.
